We are proud that our luminaires have won 89 internationally renowned design awards, including the German Design Award in Gold, the Design Award of the German Federal Government and the Wallpaper Design Award.

Artist brothers.

Timon and Melchior Grau have been working together as artists for 13 years. After studying economics, they studied art with artist Ai Weiwei and graduated from the renowned Städelschule. In 2023, they were named one of the AD Top 100 most influential designers.

Sunset Dimming.

The influence of light is essential for mental health and well-being. GRAU has spent 10 years researching a new light that simulates the sunset with calming effects on the body and mind.

Latest studies show that proper light in the evening reduces the risk of mental illness by up to 30%.

Sunset dimming supports the biological rhythm that regulates your sleep-wake cycle. Cold and blue light after sunset causes this cycle to slow down and disrupts your internal clock.

NO BLUE LIGHT

Our warm light supports your biological rhythm and the production of the relaxation hormone melatonin — your body come to rest. Sunset dimming is the best light in the evening and at night (e.g. for mothers as a breastfeeding light) as it does not disrupt the body's sleep rhythm.
