Ferdinand Kramer created a purposeful, timeless design. In 1925 he designed this door handle with a conical handle, which we have been manufacturing since 1992, authorized by Ferdinand Kramer's widow. Expanded with new material, the model is also available in brushed or polished stainless steel.
1898 – 1985
Ferdinand Kramer was an important German architect and functionalist designer. He worked mainly in Frankfurt am Main, where he was involved in the design of the New Frankfurt in the 1920s as an employee of Ernst May.
Reviled by the National Socialists as “degenerate” and banned from working, he emigrated and followed his wife Beate to the USA in 1938.
After the war he returned to Frankfurt and was building director at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University between 1952 and 1964. Under his leadership, 23 new university buildings were built.
